"McNEIL MAKES INROADS FOR MINORITY STUDENTS IN SUMMER PROGRAM
Making inroads into corporate America through the national INROADS program, eight students from colleges and universities around the country are interning at McNeil this summer.
The mission of INROADS is to recruit talented minority youth and prepare them for positions of leadership in corporate America and in the community. Its focus is to assist minorities in entering the doors of American corporations and to equip them with the skills necessary for long-term corporate growth.
INROADS Philadelphia chooses from over 380 student applicants representative of the top fifth of their high school or college classes. Only 128 of these students are admitted to the talent pool from which more than 47 companies choose interns.
The INROADS program consists of not only summer corporate internships but includes career development seminars and workshops, community involvement projects and counseling and tutorial service.
In it's fifth year McNeil has broadened its involvement with INROADS by increasing the number of summer interns from five last summer to eight this summer.
The 1986 summer INROADERS are: Kelly Davis, Finance, University of Pittsburgh; Marke Dickinson, Personnel, Penn State University; Ernest Dixon Quality Control, Duquesne University (pictured above); Monica Ferguson, Chemical Research, Tufts University; Tamara Goode, Biological Research, Spellman College; Lori Harvey, Scientific Computer Systems, Beaver College, Nicole Hudson, Chemical & Pharmaceutical Development, Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science; and Dawnail Williams, Information Systems, Albright College.
