Memphis - 1987

INROADS/Memphis opened with 28 interns in 1987.

The Commercial Appeal ($25,000), Goldsmiths’s ($7,500), Memphis Light, Gas, and Water ($7,500), Richards Medical ($5,000), Holiday Corporation ($5,000), IBM ($5,000), Way Venture Fund ($5,000), South Central Bell ($5,000), Boatmen’s Bank ($2,500), Coopers & Lybrand ($2,5000), Kroger ($2,000), E.H. Crump ($2,000) and Cargill ($1,000) gave funds to support the start-up of the affiliate.

In addition to the above companies, carrier, First American Bank, Peat, Marwick, Mitchell, and WMC-TV sponsored interns.
